Tampa Names Captain and Assistants

(Tampa Bay) - Lightning have named their Captain for the upcoming season and it is and for the 4th straight season Pavel Kubina will lead the Lightning. He has been a strong player for Tampa during his career and is the leader of the Lightning. He has stuck around while many other faces have gone by. The one steady rock on the back end for the Bolts has been Pavel and once again he will be looked upon to return the Bolts to the Cup final again. Paired with McLaren they are the teams leaders on the back line and with so much attention on the team over the last 2 or 3 seasons, he has been the teams spokesman and always there to answer any questions.
The Assistants this season are players that have been a big part of the Lightning for years. Kyle Calder is a strong winger who plays tough every game and shows his leadership by how he plays. He has been a team leader for a couple of years now and hope he can continue to show the younger players and new faces that hard work and determination is rewarded in Tampa. He will be on the top line once again and play many minutes.
Kyle McLaren was brought in to give the Bolts a top defensive Dman to play with Pavel and Kyle has not disappointed. He was strong last season and looks to play even better this season. Thibault is finally happy to have strong defence in front of him and Kyle provides that. He is strong in his own end and has flashes of offence to help the team out. The Kyle's are strong vocally and help Pavel in the dressing room with any problems that may arise. Last season was a dream season and now they look forward to playing even better and returning to the Cup finals once again.
