Oilers for Battle for Starting Goaltender position

Ty Conklin proved himself last year when given the chance, his outstanding play was the #1 reason why the Oilers were able to sneak into the Playoffs last year and in training camp he's not making the choice for starting goaltender an easy one. Conklin continues to out-play who was considered to be the obvious starter Brian Boucher. Ty Conklin did not get much play last year until when it most mattered, His last 10 games he went 8-1-1, He finished the season with some of the best stats in CLUTCH while Brian Boucher was dealt to the Oilers nearing the end of the season after a disappointing year. Both Goalies look stong which is a great sign for the Oilers who have high hopes this year with all of the new faces that have already been acquired or are just being noticed in training camp like Havelid. the Oilers Coach responded to questions regarding the tandem early this week: "Ty and Brian both are showing notable improvements since last season in camp this year and both have earned their right to see a lot of games this upcoming season". Ty Conklin put up unbeleivable numbers last season and we can't wait to see him get some games in this upcoming year.
