Player Profile : Milan Hejduk
(Tampa Bay) - The Lightning made another trade last season that brought in super star Milan Hejduk to the organization. This was another schrewd move as he and Mario had instant chemistry and played extremely well together. Forming a great top line, the team seemed to take off with the scoring prowess of Milan and even if the team allowed too many goals, Gm and Coach knew that the top line was capable of pulling the team back on top.
Milan will once again be counted on to provide scoring this season and with Gm Sprackman already saying he intends on siging him long term in the off season he should be able to score alot more goals for the Bolts. Playing with Mario every night again should allow him to get to 40 goals this season and if both can stay healthy enough maybe evn push past 50. It would be the best thing for the team and maybe another trip to the cup finals.
Milan stands 5'11" and weighs in at 185 but brings a workman like attitude to the dressing room and when he speaks people listen. He shows the way on and off the ice and his leadership has never been questioned in Tampa. He practices hard and plays even harder and should be a top player for many more years.
Milan has said he loves playing in Tampa and playing with Mario has been a treat. He loves the dedication Mario and Sully brings to the game and only hopes he can stnd up to that type of pressure they put on his shoulders. The line is one of the top lines in the league and will once again lead the Lightning to the cup.
