'Canes Win Rematch With Panthers

FLORIDA-The red hot Carolina Hurricanes blew into town and were looking for redemption against one of 3 teams to defeat them so far this year.

The Panthers came out strong in the first period out shooting the 'Canes 12-5. The Panthers got goals from Ivan Novoseltsev at 2:48 and Yanick Lehoux at 6:34 for a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

The second period was all Carolina. The 'Canes did the out shooting and out scoring and out played the Panthers in the second. Carolina got goals from Draper (7:49), Fisher (8:44), Stillman (18:03) and Alexei Kovalev finished the scoring just :35 seceonds later at 18:38 to give the 'Canes a 4-2 lead and all they needed to give the Panthers their 4th straight loss.

The Panther will not have time to dwell on their loss as they travel to Colorado to play the Avalanche tommorrow night.
