Panthers Snap Losing Skid

COLORADO-The Panthers came limping into Colorado with a 4 game losing streak in tow and were looking to exercise some demons.

Stephen Weiss got an unassisted goal early in the first at 1:05 to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. The Avalanche tied it up at 15:31 when Darius Kasparaitis scored his second of the season.

The second was surprisingly a defensive period with neither team getting many shots with the Panthers getting the edge in shots 6-5 and on the scoreboard. Ivan Novoseltsev scored the only goal of the period at 16:08 to give the Panthers a one goal lead after 2 periods.

Ivan got the game winner and his second of the game at 5:28 for a 3-1 lead but the Avalanche were not about to give up. Radim Vrbata brought the Avalanche within one when he notched his 4th of the year at 16:25. The Avalanche tried there best to tie it up late in the game but Loungo stood tall and shut the door to secure the Panthers first win in 5 games.

The Panthers will try and keep the winning going tomorrow night when they face the Flyers in Philadelphia.
