Senators Lose, GM Schmucky can only watch!
The Ottawa Senators have done it again, they have lost to a basement team that they should have been able to beat. Not only that but they also gave up more than 30 shots on goal for the millionth time this year and GM Schmucky is at his wits end with what to do,
"It's disgusting. That's all I can say. This team's effort and spirit makes me sick! We go out and get a solid Defensive forward to try to help the situation in Jere Lehtinen, and it just gets worse. We have a solid, youthful defensive core and they can't stop the puck from getting to the net. Brendan Morrison and Petr Nedved, who produced early in the season and the preseason, have been terrible with less than 3 points in their last 5 games and boasting +/-'s that would make anybody vomit!"
The Senators have recently announced that they are looking to improve their team with some trades and that almost anyone would be available for the right deal, but so far the offers that have come through are not what GM Schmucky is looking for, "We are looking to make some moves but we are not looking to trade a significant chunk of youth for some old men that are going to retire in the next few years. If that is the case, we will just wait this year out, make a run at Free Agency and hope that through development of young players, acquisition of some solid veterans and maybe a few trades we can make Ottawa a playoff bound team at the very least!"
