Capitals Add 2 Free Agents

The Washington Capitals announced the signing of two free agents today. Alex Henry and Daniel Tjarnqvist will join the club after agreeing to terms. Both men signed two-year deals worth $300,000 per year with $250,001 signing bonuses.

Henry, 26, is a sturdy blueliner who joins the team from the Boston Bruins. He's very strong with good durability, but he needs to work on his discipline. He checks in at 6-5 and 220 pounds and can really play the body and clear the front of the net. In 50 games last season at the Pro level, Henry scored two goals and added seven assists. He also had 64 hits and 204 PIMs. Henry will join the farm club for Washington and look to work hard and make the Pro squad in the future.

Tjarnqvist, 26, is a strong defender with good durability and excellent discipline. He has a lot of work to do before he makes it to the Pro rankgs, but the scouts see some good hidden potential in Daniel.

A bid for the hulking Matt Walker was unsuccessful as the defender signed with the Vancouver Canucks for $315,000 per year with a $260,000 signing bonus.

More moves may be in the works, only time will tell...
