Capitals Corner Profile: Anson Carter

The first forward entering Capitals Corner is Anson Carter. The 31-year-old free agent arrival will play right wing or center on the first or second line for Washington

Carter, a 6-1 and 200 pound power forward, has good speed and great hands. He also skates very well. Anson has a very good scoring touch and his durability and discipline are excellent. Last season with the Coyotes, Carter scored 23 goals and handed our 45 assists with 110 hits and 0 PIMs in 82 games. The Capitals are counting on Carter for similar or better offensive numbers this year.

Anson, a native of Toronto, Ontario, spends the off-season in Los Angeles, Calif where he runs a hip-hop label, Big Up Entertainment. He has a Great Dane puppy named Zeus and is single.

During his junior hockey career, Carter capture a gold medal with Team Canada at the 1994 World Junior Championships. He appeared in seven games and scored three goals and two assists.
