Are the Pens for real?

Coming off of a big win against the struggling Senators, and with the Devils only managing a tie against the Kings, The Pens find themselves only a point behind New Jersey and tied with the Flyers for the 9th spot in the Eastern Conference Playoff race. With 26 games to go the Penguins very well could be able to salvage somethig out of this season and make the playoffs after all. Their next game however will test whatever they may have when they take on the Islanders in New York. Their last meeting back on Day 47, saw the Islanders blow out the Pens 8-4. That of course was before they fired their old GM and hired youngster Earl Jackson to run the front office. Still looking for that one big trade to put them solidly in the playoff race the Pens with their #1 star Patrick Elias, continue to impress.
