Senators Dethrone the Kings

The Ottawa Senators have now won two games in a row! After defeating the Maple Leafs on Friday night, the Sens travelled to L.A. to face the Kings on a sweltering hot May day. The Senators have been playing surprisingly well of late but cannot seem to score the first goal. They are always coming from behind to try and catch their opponents.

Last night was no different. The Kings scored just 4:05 into the first period on a goal by Marian Gaborik to take an early lead over Ottawa. However, this pissed Ottawa off as they came back to tie it up at the 15 minute mark of the first.

They wouldn't stop there! By the 15 minute mark of the 2nd period, Ottawa had scored 5 unanswered goals on tallies by Alexeev, Grosek, Morrison with his 20th, and Lehtinen. Newly placed into the lineup was Wes Walz who notched 2 assists in the game to make an impact and let himself be known.

More surprising than the play of the Sens lately is the success of the Jr. squad from Ottawa who now sit only 1 point out of first overall in the league! The Jr. Sens, who were predicted to finish as poorly as their pro counterparts, are cleaning up in Jr. with the next closes team being those pesky Jr. Isles run by Commish Ryan Long. I am sure that if they end up winning that Ryan cheated!! Trust me!!
