Capitals Visit New Jersey for Season Finale

The Washington Capitals travel to New Jersey on Day 161 to face the Devils in the season finale for both clubs. Washington is in the playoffs, but the Devils need to win and hope for a Tampa Bay loss to sneak into the post season.

The Caps are currently fifth in the Wales Conference but will slide one spot in the playoff seedings as Pittsburgh moves to No. 2 by winning the Adams Division. A victory over the Devils clinches the No. 6 seed and a first-round matchup with the Florida Panthers. A tie combined with a Philadelphia win or a loss would see the Capitals drops to the No. 7 seed and face Pittsburgh in the first round.

During the regular season, Washington was 1-2-1 (14-16) against Florida and 1-1-1 (7-7) against Pittsburgh.

The lineup for tonight's game should be identical to that used in Washington's 4-3 victory on Day 160 except for the goaltender. Backup Peter Skudra will be in net for the Caps. The veteran netminder is 6-5-3 with a 2.91 GAA and .894 save percentage this season.
