New Look Sens Look GREAT!

The Ottawa Senators silenced critics of their recent trade yesterday as their new look squad demolished the Coyotes last night. The Coyotes were in a race for the final playoff spot before running into Alexei Kovalev and the Senators.

Although the 4-1 score did not appear to be a blowout, the entire game was controlled by Ottawa as they outshot the 'Yotes 35-23 in Kovalev's first healthy appearance since the trade.

Kovalev scored the game winner late in the first and also ended up with 3 shots on goal, 25 minutes of ice time, 1 hit and a +1 rating. Although he wasn't the highest point getter for the Sens, he was the veteran leader that they have been looking for all year. Nedved has been a good influence but Kovalev is a born, proven leader having captained both International and National Hockey league teams.

The SenatorJR's play their final regular season game tonight vs. the MinnesotaJR's. It is a very important game if the Sens hope to finish first in their conference. The Hurricanes are chasing with a joke of a schedule to finish the year...GO FIGURE! Good luck JR's!
