Oilers sign Amonte & Aucoin

The Edmonton Oilers managment solidified two of their best players early today. They made a deal with Unrestricted Free Agent Tony Amonte for 3 years. Amonte is a key right winger and it would be hard to see him go to the free agent market. Amonte was acquired late in the season from the Devils and was expected to play the open free agent market but he liked where he was in the Oilers line up and clicked well with the Oiler players. Amonte had 77 points last season including 31 goals and 46 assistes. His veterean prescence goal along well with the Oilers theme and he will be able to fill Frolov's spot who was traded this off season. Adrian Aucoin was acquired as a soon-to-be UFA as well and the was the Oilers top defenseman. Aucoin held out for more money (some critics say more then he's worth) but the Oilers couldn't let him go and signed a long term deal with their star defensman. The Oilers have went ahead and solidified their roster even before the Free Agent market opened and all they will need to add would be considered a bonus to their existing roster.
