Capitals Tie Panthers
The Washington Capitals earned a point on Day 83 after tying the Florida Panthers 2-2 on home ice. The result lifts Washington to 17-24-4.
After a scoreless opening period, the Panthers took the lead when Visnovsky netted from McNeill and Langenbrunner at 1:46. The Capitals tied it up later in the second on Nik Antropov's marker from Oleg Sapryking at 14:13.
Washington took the leader at 6:56 of the final period. Ivan Rachunek was the scorer from Severin Blindenbacher and Joffrey Lupul. Florida leveled the score just under five minutes later when Jonsson notched his 10th of the season from Bondra and Daigle at 11:53.
