Canadiens Conquer Capitals

The Washington Capitals fell 3-0 to the Montreal Canadiens on Day 118 for its fourth straight loss. The setback dropped Washington to 23-32-9 for the season.

Montreal took the lead at 17:14 of the first period when Kozlov scored from Zherdev and Hannan.

After a scoreless middle stanza, the Canadiens added two late goals in the final period to put the game away. Zherdev struck first from Hannan and Kozlov at 16:35, before Bartecko converted from Donovan and Bulis at 17:11.

Kevin Weekes stopped 19 shots in the loss. Brent Johnson made 27 saves to earn the shutout victory.

The Capitals visit New Jersey on Day 120.
