Capitals Tie Devils
The Washington Capitals scored twice in the final period on Day 107 to earn a 3-3 tie against the New Jersey Devils. The result extended Washington's unbeaten run to four games and moved the club to 22-28-8.
Greg Watson gave the Caps a perfect start when he scored his third of the season from Artem Chubarov and Frantisek Lukes at 2:16 of the first period. New Jersey battled back to tie the game on Dvorak's unassisted goal at 18:33.
The Devils carried the play in the middle stanza and scored twice to take a 3-1 lead. Legwand struck first from Devereaux and Spiller at 9:37, before Biron converted from Huselius and Malone at 17:27.
Washington came back in the final period to tie the game with a pair of goals. Jonathan Cheechoo got the first from Andrew Ference and Chubarov on the power play at 0:02, and Chubarov sent the game to overtime from Lukes and Watson with just 57 seconds remaining.
