Senators Crush Avalanche, Lose Poti
The Ottawa Senators came up with a huge win Monday night versus the nasty Avalance from Colorado.
Ottawa was a little nervous going into the matchup as Colorada holds sole possession of first place in their conference. However, that fear was alleviated quickly as the Sens blew the doors off the Avs, winning by a score of 5-1. Ottawa also outshot Colorado 30-19 showing their utter domination of this matchup.
The number one star of the game was Filip Novak who notched a goal and an assist in the win. Other notables were Petr Sejna who had 2 assists, Hal Gill, and Tom Poti who scored the game winner.
Tom Poti went down hard when he was viciously elbowed in the face by Avalanche goon Darius Kaparitus. "It was an awful hit. He's nothing more than a goon who shouldn't even be allowed to wear skates for fear he may use them as a weapon" stated GM Schmucky at a post-game press conference.'
Poti is expected to miss about one week due to a head injury while it is expected the league will rule on Kasparitus this afternoon sometime and hopefully lay down an appropriate suspension.
