Capitals Tie Flyers

The Washington Capitals ended a two-game losing skid, but found a way to not win for the sixth straight game on Day 96 in a 2-2 tie with the Philadelphia Flyers. The point moves Washington to 19-28-6.

Nik Antropov gave the Capitals a good start when he scored his ninth of the season from Cory Sarich and Oleg Saprykin at 9:13 of the first period.

The Flyers battled back to tie the game in the middle stanza. Leeb got the goal from Grenier and Cooke at 7:14. Washington regained the lead 5:10 later with a power play marker from Andrew Ference. Severin Blindenbacher and Frantisek Lukes assisted on the goal.

Philadelphia earned a point when Laraque tied it up from Roy and Gratton with just 1:07 remaining in the game.

JS Giguere made 19 saves for Washington. Cam Ondrik stopped 29 shots for the Flyers.

The Capitals visit Boston on Day 97.
