Buffalo Sabres face possible Playoff Elimination

Buffalo – A.P.

The Buffalo Sabres fall back to the fourth seed in the Wales Conference after their recent three game stink which resulted in the Buffalo Sabres losing all three games and dropping from second seed in the Wales Conference to tied for fourth seed in the Conference.

Why are the Sabres having such a hard time winning games? Well let’s take a look. In there last three games the Buffalo Sabres out shot their opponents 91 to 66 yet lose all three of games, why? Poor goaltending, that’s the reason coming out of Buffalo for their losing habits. Of course one can say the defense needs to step up and do better, but they have been, minimizing shots to 17 to 18 a game yet Rick Dipietro still allows in 2 to 3 goals a game putting pressure on the offense.

However there recent skid is far from over as the Buffalo Sabres still have a game against Toronto Maple Leafs coming up in which Toronto is on a nine game winning streak and threatening to bump the Buffalo Sabres to fifth seed if they are to win. Following soon after the Maple Leafs are the San Jose Sharks, who under new management have gone 8-1-1 in their last ten and threaten to even perhaps bump the Buffalo Sabres out of the playoff picture entirely.
