GM Burns Stirs RFA Pot

The rumour mill is in high gear due to all the business activity in Clutch right now. Resignings, UFA, RFA, and the draft all have GM's talking but one rumour that just exploded is that the Rangers have offered standout San Jose defenceman Rotislav Klesla a lucrative contract.

An emerging superstar, Klesla refused to sign with the Sharks just a few short days ago. Neither Klesla nor Sharks management were available for comment.

Burns, who was cornered near his car in the parking lot of Madison Square Garden, was evasive.

"We are looking at all available options to improve our team. We feel defence is a priority and we will be actively working to improve in that area."

When asked if the compensation would be something that the Rangers would be willing to part with Burns hesitated and said "I think it's fair to say that a young defenceman of Klesla's calibre would be worth a first a few seconds and a million bucks," and then jumped in his car and sped off.
