Trade Talk Ettiquette

Pet Peeve: People who tell you they want to trade a player but will not engage in any conversation beyond that.

Sample Conversation: (Not based on actual conversation. Player names are first ones I thought of)

A: Hi. Is Bure available?
B: Could be.
A: What are you looking for?
B: Depends.
A: How about Kiprusoff?
B: Don't need a goalie.
A: How about Blake?
B: Nah.
A: Daigle and 1st. (wait 10 minutes for a reply)
B: Pass.
A: Well what are you looking for?
B: Youth.
A: How about a first, Markov and a jr.
B: You're kidding right?
A: You said you wanted youth!
B: Not that kind of youth.
A: Well what do you want?
B: Something better than that.
A: How about Alfredsson and a third for Bure and Zyuzin.
B: Don't want Alfredsson.
A: Well what do you want?
B: A decent offer.

Notice the never ending, time wasting and frustrating pattern here? What the heck is GM left to think here? He can keep randomly guessing forever but he has no idea where to start.
If you want to talk trade take a look at the persons team and counter offer. If there's one thing that drives me nuts it me trying to GUESS what the other GM wants. Don't expect the other GM to read your mind. Have the courtesy to look at the persons roster and see if there's anything you think would benefit your team. Making another GM simply offer random offers will waste your time and his. Try and get on the same page. If there's nothing you would want you can tell him and if there is you can have a meaningful conversation.

Happy trading!
