Rebuilding in Anaheim...

With the hiring of GM Kyle Schmuck in Anaheim this weekend there has been a lot of activity. It appears the Anaheim GM has started cleaning up the large mess the Ducks had been left in. The Day started off with the Ducks GM Trading away the Stars 1st round pick 2007 to acquire a Solid Right Winger Arron Asham which as it stands now is pegged to start on the Ducks First Line with Sergei Fedorov & Paul Kariya, Arron will definately stack up a lot of points if he is able to be matched up with those two power houses all year. The 2nd move of the day saw Iiya Bryzgalov & a 2nd Round Pick 2008 go to Atlanta in turn for Goaltender Pasi Nurminen. Nurminen will be competeing for the Ducks starting Goaltender position with other hopeful Fred Brathwaite. It was no surprise to see Bryzgalov traded as he was holding out in hopes of more money or a trade to a franchise with better hopes of a playoff birth. The Ducks GM was also rumoured to of been on the phone with players agents all day long sending out contractual offers totalling 7.4 million dollars in an attempt to fill the all but complete Anaheim roster.
