Capitals Sell 2 Juniors to San Jose

The Washington Capitals sold a pair of junior defenders to the San Jose Sharks recently. The acquisition adds $1,000,000 to the Washington bank account.

Heading to San Jose are Mark McRae and David Johansson. Both players are 25 and not likely to make it to the pro ranks in the future. As extra players in Washington, they were on the market and San Jose needed players to facilitate another trade.

"We would have preferred draft picks, but cash had to do in this case," GM John Henry said in a press conference. The money will go into the bank and be used to further strengthen the organization in the future. Mr. Henry continued, "you can never really have enough money, so we were happy to get something for these two kids who really have no future in the league."

Stay tuned for more news from Washington as the preseason continues.
