Flyers look to make an impact

The Philadelphia Flyers are looking to rebound from a terrible season last year. A reasonably healthy team through the 82 game schedule will be a must for the team if they expect to go anywhere. Last years losing was mainly based on the departure of long time captain Joe Sakic and sniper Jaromir Jagr the season before because of salary cap issues. Philly may not be as powerful as they were earlier in CLUTCH history, but they should be in contention this season and could sneak in playoffs as the underdog team.
After this off-season the Flyers have picked up a much needed #1 goaltender in Chris Osgood. Goaltending has always been an issue here in Philadephia, and hopefully now that issue can be put to rest. The team also went out and aquired steady defencman Derian Hatcher, and hope for productive seasons from current players. The Flyers made the move to aquire Hatcher two days after the team traded Adam Foote to Colorado for Chris Osgood and John-Michael Liles. A move that needed to be done for Philly, and will have a huge part in their season this year.

If the Flyers can get solid goaltending from Ozzy this season, then expect them to rebound after what was the worst season in franchise history in CLUTCH. Osgood has some talented defenders helping him out on the back end, but he will be called upon to steal some games for the team if they hope to go anywhere this season.
