Bruins to visit central Ohio
The Boston Bruins look for a franchise-best third straight win when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets, a team searching for its identity as it continues the Tom Kozlowski Administration. This will be the first of three meetings between the two teams this season, and the first of two in Columbus.
Bruins GM Joshua Anderson is looking forward to the game, as he was a part-time resident of the Columbus for nearly two years, and was known to frequent the place oft-referred to as "The Zoo" by locals, the place next door to Nationwide Arena, Frog, Bear & Wild Boar. Of course, he was also known to drop a paycheck or two at Kahoots "Steak and Strip"...
Boston has shown an offensive surge during its winning streak, scoring fourteen goals in its last two victories. They are averaging five goals a game thusfar on this roadtrip, in which they are 2-1-1. Sunday night's game was the second time on the trip they have exploded for four goals in the third period.
Martin Havlat paces the team in points, scoring 7-13-20 this season, with Andy McDonald (7-12) and Jochan Hecht (9-10) are second with nineteen. Bill Guerin leads the team with twelve goals.
Boston topped Montreal 7-4 on Sunday to move into twelfth place in the Wales Conference. The Bruins are three points behind the Washington Capitals, but have played two more games than the eight-place Caps.
After a 1-11-0 start, the Bruins are 7-2-2.
"It's a small victory, but a run we are enjoying. We believed this team was a decent block for future success." GM Joshua Anderson said. "This shows that maybe we are not unfounded in that belief."
The Blue Jackets are coming off a 9-1 defeat by the Minnesota Wild, and are 1-3-1 in their last five after a 4-1 run before that. They are 6-8-1 at home.
