Panthers Release Hnilicka

FLORIDA

The Florida Panthers announced tonight after the game that they are releasing veteran back up goalie Milan Hnilicka.

Milan only played in 5 games for the Panthers and had a 1-1 record. The Panthers GM told the goalie about his release after Florida's win against the Flames.

"unfortunately sometimes we have to make some tough decision in life and this was one of those decisions." GM Perrault told the press. "We told Milan that we would no longer be retaining his services. We wish him all the best and thanked him for all he has done for our organization and as an organization we are continually looking to improve. It is for this reason that we had no choice but to release Milan. We will be holding a news conference when we get back to Florida for an announcement on who will be Loungo's new back up."
