Panthers Star Struck In 3-0 Loss
FLORIDA
Dallas back up goalie Patrick Desrochers stopped all 35 shots he faced to earn his first shut out of the season. Desrochers lead his team to victory and was named the games first star for his stellar performance.
Desrochers was on his game from the start as the Panthers came out shooting. Florida out shot the Stars 15-8 in the first and 35-26 overall but couldn't solve Desrocher.
Dallas got on the board first in the second period when Yannick Tremblay scored his second of the season at 5:34. Manny Malhotra scored a late period goal at 19:02 to give the Stars a 2-0 lead going into the third period.
Vladimir Korsunov scored his first of the year at 17:54 of the third to seal the win for the Stars who won for the second straight game.
The Panthers are awful at home with a 3-5 record and lost for the second game in a row. Loungo has not been playing like a number one goaltender and the Panthers lack of a quality back up has the GM looking around the league to improve his goaltending woes.
"NO that does not mean Loungo is available." GM Perrault scowled. "He is in my dog house for his sub-par play lately but we are not shopping him around or looking to deal him. What we are in the market for is a quality back up so we don't have to really on just Loungo."
The Panthers will try and end their losing streak as they traveled to Calgary today to play the Flames tonight before heading back home for a 5 game stand.
