MO' MOJZIS, NO PROBLEMS

Carolina

The junior Canes have been feeling a bit of momentum on their own. One player who has often been overlooked for his efforts has been veteran defenseman Tomas Mojzis. The talented 25 year old has shown some slick moves and has really stepped into the forefront of an already deep roster.

"We needed a defenseman to step up and quarterback the power play," said junior Canes coach Craig Hartsburgh. "I cannot say enough about this kids presence on the point and how well he reads the play. He has shown me a lot this year and I hope he continues this same sort of play."

Mojzis actually leads the league in points for defenseman and currently sits with 5 goals and 10 assists in 19 games, 1 point ahead of the next best total.

"I like the hockey," said Mojzis. "I like the puck to shoot and the score. Skate good."

The Canes rely heavily on the veteran to skate a lot of minutes and play in the key offensive situations. Known primarily as a top notch passer, Mojzis tends to get a lot of shots through traffic, a key talent for a player of his skill set.

"He knows what he has to do," said the coach. "He makes all the plays and rarely lets us down."
