GLASS STELLAR IN TIE
Carolina
With e Carolina Junior Hurricanes fighting for playoff position, a real test came at the hand of the Calgary Flames club. A team who has been consistently at the top of the standings, Calgary boasts one of the best offenses in the league.
Ryan Getzlaf led the scoring for the Canes by picking up 2 points qucickly and despite several opportunities late in the contest, was unable to bring the extra points to the Canes.
Jeff Glass, stellar netminder for the Canes, did all he could in the game by tossing away 31 of 34 shots and kept the Canes in the Game the entire time.
"Glassy is the man around here," said Shea Weber. "With him back there, this club does everything right. I think we have all the confidence in the world in him to shut the door and let us win it. When we do not win, it usually is our own fault. Jeff is solid."
The Canes junior squad has been waiting for the impact of Igor Mirnov. Mirnov, despite having several chances, has not been the offensive machine as the team thought he would be.
"He has more talent than most of this league, but right now, luck is not on his side," said Jeff Carter. "He is firing but he just cannot seem to make it happen. He will though, he is that good."
