Junior Capitals Tie Philadelphia

The Washington Junior Capitals earned a 3-3 tie with the Philadelphia Junior Flyers on Day 149 to stay in the Wales Conference playoff race. Washington is six points out of the playoffs at 30-33-12.

Philadelphia opened an early lead in the first period when Collins netted from Stajan on the power play at 3:45. Jean-Claude Sawyer was in the box for unsportsmanlike-conduct at the time of the goal. The Junior Caps fought back to tie the game midway through the period on Zbynek Novak's goal from Igor Shadulov and Robert Muller at 11:40, but the Flyers regained the lead just 55 seconds later. Nolan was the scorer from Jessiman at 12:35.

Washington came alive in the second period and scored a pair of goals to take a 3-2 lead. Jakub Cutta got the first from Sean Kotary at 1:29, before Sean Bergenheim netted from Lance Moynch at 12:44.

The Flyers showed why they're one of the top teams in the league in the final period, tying the game with a goal from Beauchemin at 4:18. Jessiman and Sullivan assisted on the goal.

Robert Muller stopped 26 shots for Washington and moved to 5-1-3. Martin Gerber made 31 saves for Philadelphia.

The Junior Capitals return to action on Day 153 at home against the Junior Flyers
