Rangers Go To Boot Camp - Train for Isles

The New York Rangers went into intensive training during their time off over the last week in order to prepare for their meeting tonight against the New York Islanders.

The Battle for New York, as it has been dubbed, figures to be a tough one as both teams are gearing up for what could be a key late series in the playoffs.

The Rangers have made moves by adding Sundin and Alfredsson of late in order to fire up an offence that has been tepid most of the season. Despite their lack of a genuine superstar they have made the opposition pay with a balanced attack that eats away at oppostion defences.

We caught up to the team in the midst of a tough workout, just as they received a message from their General Manager who is still in jail for the attempted poisoning of his own goalies.

"Dear Team:

The charges against me are false, erroneous, deceitful, and fictional. I would never harm anyone on this team. I have started another investigation and much of the information I'm getting back is pointing to none other than the General Manager of the New York Islanders as the culprit behind this ruse.

I have personally paid for this boot camp to prepare you to destroy the Islanders tonight. Tear at them like wild dogs! Leave them bloody and beaten on the ice. We will not be beaten. Make this the game they remember and fear when they see your snarling faces bearing down on them at centre ice of the opening game of our playoff series! Send them a message from General Manager Burns!

General Manager Burns says:

NEW YORK BELONGS TO THE RANGERS! NEW YORK WILL DISPLAY THE STANLEY CUP ON THE FALLEN BODIES OF THE ISLANDERS AND THEIR FAITHFUL! LONGER WILL PERISH AND NEW YORK WILL REMAIN FREEEEEEE!"

Many of the team seemed shocked and somewhat incredulous at the message except for a jubilanT Mike Ribeiro. Look for a big game from him tonight.

The league has been notified of the letter and a warning has been issued to both teams that any premeditated violence will be dealt with harshly.
