Gilette takes promotion night

It only seems fitting. Gilette, owned by local businessman Robert Kraft, has taken up sponsorship of Razor Crew, the Andrew Raycroft Fan Club, night.

The Bruins had postponed the promotion when the previous sponsor, Fleet Bank, had pulled out fearing negative publicity given Raycroft's recent slump. As fate would have it, Raycroft shut down his opponent on the originally scheduled night.

Kraft, at the press conference announcing the partnership, spoke of the obvious marketing alignment between Gilette and "the Razor".

"As sharp a player as Andrew is, he does not compare to the new Gilette Fusion, as all of the male fans over sixteen will find out with their paid admission to the Islanders-Bruins game later this week. In addition, all fans will receive the new Razor Crew t-shirt with a paid ticket," Kraft announced as he shook hands with the netminder.

"We are excited to have Gilette on board as a sponsor of the Bruins and Andrew Raycroft," GM Joshua Anderson said during the conference. "We also remind Andrew that if his play does not stay strong, that Fusion may be used to slit his throat..."
