Junior Caps Fall to Junior Predators

Sean Bergenheim scored two goals, but it wasn't enough as the Washington Junior Capitals lost a close 4-3 decision to the Nashville Junior Predators. The loss dropped Washington to 32-36-12.

Bergenheim gave the Caps a great start when he scored his 20th of the season from Ivan Baranka and Branko Radivojevic after just 51 seconds. Nashville answered with two goals to take its first lead of the game. McCutcheon got the first from Upshall and Eager at 6:05, before Foy made it 2-1 from Lindstrom and Lavrentiev at 17:40. Maxim Orlov tied it up for the Washington from Patrick O'Sullivan and Jakub Cutta at 19:35.

After a scoreless middle stanza, Bergenheim netted his second of the game from Matt Maglione and Radivojevic at 11:46 to make it 3-2. The Predators came right back to tie the game through Altarev from Foy and Lucky at 13:11.

Nashville came out flying in the overtime period, and Ellison scored the game-winner from Lucky and Altarev after just 36 seconds.

Robert Muller made 21 saves in the loss and fell to 7-3-3. Peter Hamerlik stopped 27 shots to earn the win and improve to 14-11-4.

The Junior Capitals visit Philadelphia on Day 163.
