Bruins buyout Petr Sachl

With a slew of call-ups from their farm club, the Boston Bruins were put in the unusual position of having to make something happen roster wise.

A decision has been made, therefore, to buyout Petr Sachl from the remaining year on his contract.

The left wing journeyman had one year left on a $300,000 contract he signed under the previous regime, it is believed. He has accepted a $150,000 release settlement as part of the buyout arrangement.

Sachl did not play for the Bruins last season. The team will instead go with two rookies pushing Matt Hartigan and Pierre Turgeon as they prepare to break camp.

The team wishes Sachl well and has set out change jars at the Official Bruins stores in an effort to help him get by. You know, in addition to the $150,000 he was given.
