Bruins make additions - of sorts

The offseason has seen a flurry of trade activity from the normally quiet Boston Bruins. A team which made few in-season moves prior to their utter collapse with a month remaining in the season, the Boston hockey club has made a couple of notable moves to try to improve the roster.

However, some of the biggest moves that were made actually did not involve a talent swap - it was the NHL rerates for the team.

With no movement at all but a simple communication with the Benevolent Dictator for Life, Wonka Mussolini, the Bruins improved in three critical positions.

Left winger Brian Rolston received a nod for improvements in passing and scoring, while will aid the Bruins with one more offensive weapon in the upcoming season. Improvements were noted in every category but two, as there were minimal drops in discipline and puck control. "It's almost like we picked up a better player without giving up anything," GM Joshua Anderson said, adding, "especially with endurance and scoring jumps."

"Andy McDonald, too," Anderson continued. "I mean, the guy was solid, but now he improves to all around goodness. A few ov point jump, to help with drawing fans, but the increases in endurance, durability, puck control, passing, and scoring? How can you pass on that?

But the biggest jump came from a junior leaguer. "Andrej Meszaros will have an immediate impact on our defense. He will go from a middling defensive junior to probably a number three d-man with our pro club, and will shore up one of our biggest concerns."

With these improvements in mind, the Bruins have gone forward with talent evaluation and made their other moves.
