Leafs open season at home against the Flames...or do they???

At the last moment, the Leafs were informed they would be playing their first game of the season at home against the Calgary Flames. For whatever reason, the league schedule had not been posted on the site, leaving many teams wondering who they would be playing first.

The Flames were one of those teams left in the dark as they played the Hurricanes. The Flames won the game easily and it could be said that they caught the Canes offguard since their GM didnt have time to scramble to match up their lines.

We caught up to a gm who commented, but didnt want to be named.

"It was chaotic, I mean, we have no clue who we were playing until they turned the lights on in the arena. Thank God we were at the right arena, since that would have been embarrassing. But in all seriousness, when you have things like this happen, you end up with results like you saw with the Ducks manhandling the Avs. I mean, if that isnt enough proof, im not sure what is. From what I was told, the Avs still arent sure who they lost to. Thats how secretive things have been."

Secrets or not, the Leafs will have their hands full with the Josh's Flames, since they will be riding high after their win over the Canes.

The Leafs will continue this secretive theme by not letting their own team know who is on whos line until the coach sends the players onto the ice. Infact, during the opening face off, their entire team will remain on the bench, and their first line then will be instructed to jump in and get into the play, player by player. This will go for all 4 lines and their starting goalie as well who has the hardest job getting off of the bench and into the net before the Flames get a chance to score.

Should be fun...what other tricks does the Commish have up his sleeve?

Maybe teams have been given a map with directions to find their way to the next game without any other information.
