Ilya Kovalchuk and Jason Speeza assisted Mark Parrish with that goal.
On day 6, the Buffalo Sabres played the Montreal Canadians in Montreal as Montreal came into the game undefeated at 1-0-1 on the season, the Buffalo Sabres were at a dismal 1-2 record. However when the game was all said and done, the Buffalo Sabres had beaten yet again another unbeaten team ending their hopes for a perfect record. John LeClair scored the game winning goal 12:05 into the 3rd period on a Power Play as he was assisted by yet again Ilya Kovalchuk and Jason Speeza, Brent Sopel of the Montreal Canadians was charged with a High Sticking penalty and kicked out of the game.
