Blue Jackets acquire Lampman, Lundqvist from Detroit

Columbus Blue Jackets President and General Manager Peter Dell'Olio has announced that the club has traded defenseman Martin Hohener to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for junior defenseman Bryce Lampman, junior forward Joel Lundqvist and a draft choice from Philadelphia, in the third round.

Hohener was the Blue Jackets leading defenseman, but with the rise of youngster Dennis Wideman in junior the club felt trading Hohener now would provide Columbus with more youth going forward. Lundqvist is an energy forward with some upside and Bryce Lampman could become a solid 3/4 blue liner down the line.
