Bruins sign two, look for more

Sunday morning, the Boston Bruins franchise announced the signing of Shawn McEachern and Tomas Kopecky with the club.

"We are excited to welcome McEachern and Kopecky to the Boston family," GM Joshua Anderson told the gathered press. "To be honest, we did not expect to sign both men, but we now have a plethora of centers with which to make something work."

McEachern will earn $1.2 million per season, while Kopecky will pocket an extra $100,000 per year. Both men signed four year deals.

Anderson continued, "McEachern and Kopecky, while both talented, will be expected to compete for our third and fourth line center spots in training camps. Of course, Matt Hartigan and Andy Hilbert both will have something to say about that as they look for their own playing time."

The Bruins franchise expects to continue to try to make further moves in an effort to shore up their defensive play, as well as some wing talent.
