Senators and JR Sens Start Season with a BANG
The Ottawa Senators started their season at the Corel Center last night with a big 4-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. The sens played a great game firing 25 shots on distraught goaltender Chris Osgood. Roman Turek played excellent as he stopped 26 of the 28 shots brought his way.
The big story of the night however was newcomer Brendan Morrison as he had a fantastic start in a Sens uniform. Morrison had 4 shots on net, 3 goals and finished with a plus\minus of +4. The new look of the Ottawa Senators is a promising one if they can remain healthy throughout the season.
Alexei Morozov added 3 assists and another newcomer, Tom Poti, had 1 goal and 2 assists both with a +4 rating as well.
The Jr. Sens started off with an excellent win versus the JR Isles last night as well. The Jr's fired 34 shots on net on route to a 5-3 victory. Goaltender Tobias Stephan saved 20 of 23 shots in the win. The Jr. Sens also had a breakout night with Matt Hendricks scoring his first career hat-trick as well.
Congrats to both Senator teams and we all look forward to a strong season!
