Loungo In GM Doghouse As Losing Streak Hits 3

FLORIDA-Roberto Loungo had another bad game and let in a couple soft goals in the second as the Panthers lost for the third straight game.

The Panthers outshot the Washington Capitals 31-23 but Manny Legace stopped 28 of those 31 and was one of the reasons the Capitals were victorious over the slumping Panthers.

The first period saw the Panthers outshoot the Capital 12-5 but ending with a 2-2 tie. The Panthers got goals from Owen Nolan and Pierre Dagenais. The Capitals countered with goals from Artem Chubarov and Greg Watson both of whom got two goals on the night.

Arem Chubarov got his second of the game at 1:54 and Rob Blake scored at 14:28 to give the Capitals a 4-2 lead after 2.

Washingtons Greg Watson scored his second of the game late in the third at 19:36 and the Panthers Eric Daze scored at 19:52 for a 5-3 Capitals victory.

The GM of the Panthers Michael Perrault lost it after the game on Loungos play of late.

"This is not what we pay him too do....He has not been playing even close to his capabilities and needs to shape up. We have an incredible offensive team and Loungo has been letting us down lately. Tonight he let in 2 goals in 5 shots...That's not playing well at all and he needs to get his shit together."

The Panthers have the next three days off before the play the Conference Leading Carolina Hurricanes.
