Panthers Looking to End Losing Streak Against Capitals

FLORIDA-The Florida Panthers return to play tonight as they host the Washington Capitals.

The Capitals are winless in their last three and are also looking to break back into the win column.

"This is a game that we need to win."GM Perrault told reporters "We need a better effort from our guys as well. The Capitals will be hungry and our team can not take any one lightly. If we give a half assed effort like we have been the last couple games against the Canucks and the Senators then ....well lets just say the result wouldn't change for us. We need to play 60 minutes not 40 and we can't be using our time off as an excuse for being fatigued."

The Panthers have went from first to a three was tie for third with the Sharks only 1 point back and a game in hand.

"This is a very competitive league." the GM continued "We came out strong to start the season ...stronger then most...but there are at least 6 teams that have had just as good a start. Even though it is still relatively early in the season if we don't shape up we could find ourselves fighting for a playoff spot. At this point we are in the thick of things and as long as we can snap out of this mini losing streak we will be in good shape when we face the 1rst place 'Canes in a couple days."

This should be an exciting game as both the Washington Capitals and the Florida Panthers will be looking to end their perspective winless and losing streaks.
