Senators blast into First in the Adams Division!
WOW! The Ottawa Senators are currently in 1st spot in the Adams division and are only 3 points out of first in the conference after a huge win against the Florida Panthers last night. The Senators played an awesome game led by veteran Centerman Petr Nedved who had a 4 point night scoring one goal and 3 assists. Michael Ryder had a 3 point night with 2 goals and an assist. Brendan Morrison's goal put him into first in the league with 10 goals and a game in hand over some other 10 goal scorers. Newly acquired forward Jere Lehtinen notched an assist to keep his 7 game point streak alive as well.
Things only get better for the Sens as they expect to have young defenseman Ryan Whitney back in the lineup for tomorrow's game after missing the last 3 due to injury.
However, the schedule gets tough for the Senators as they play 3 game in 3 nights starting with the Islanders of New York, then the Hurricanes in first place currently, and finally the Wild before returning for some rest.
Another positive for Ottawa was the record turn out of fans as more than 18,000!!!! filled the Corel Centre last night and the financial strain and stress put on the GM seems to be lifting.
(Let's just hope this isn't a jinxed post like most of Mike's turn out to be!)
