Bruins spend travel day wisely
The Boston Bruins took advantage of their travel days to experience some of Nashville, Tennessee, before facing the Predators for their Monday night game.
The Boston Bruins - sitting in terms of seniority, not performance, which struck some in the media as unusual - took a four hour flight on the privately-chartered jet approved by GM Joshua Anderson discovered there were no direct flights offered between Boston and Nashville. "The money was well-spent to avoid the press at any of the stops we would have had to of made - Charlotte, Detroit, Columbus - where fans and media would have taken us off of the game. For the second time this season, we have an opportunity to begin a winning streak against the Predators Monday night. We take that seriously."
Arriving at Nashville BNA, the team took a tour bus into Music City and stopped in the Grand Ol' Opry, though the Del McCoury performance was sold out, so they could only tour the facility and enjoy the stylings of Del McCoury and his steel gee-tar. They also drove by the Ryman Auditorium, noting the arrival of Oasis next week, which impressed... no one.
A brief drive through of the Antebellum homes left the team quiet, so GM Anderson took them back to the only place he knew could guarantee an interesting time - Robert's Western World, the last bar the GM was "escorted" from in his previous job. The original home of BR5-49, and home of Brazil Billy, invites you to "Come on in... don't cost ya nothing" is the "Home of Traditional Country Music" in Nashville and prominently located on Broadway across from the Gaylord Center.
How this will affect their performance remains to be seen.
