Bruins turn tables, stake out Predators
Despite the sound of their name, the Nashville Predators are to be the hunted tonight in Nashville.
The Boston Bruins, fresh off their second victory of the season, a 7-2 thrashing of the Los Angeles Kings, have travelled to Nashville in anticipation of an invigorating blood-pumping hunt.
Heading into their twelfth game, the Bruins were averaging a mere two-point-two goals per game, while giving up more than four. Conversely, the Predators are averaging almost five and giving up fewer than four.
"While we acknowledge the Predators offensive prowess, their goal differential is just over one goal per game," GM Joshua Anderson stated in the pre-game statements. "We believe in the theory of 'what the fuck, why not us?' when it comes to tonight's game."
While the Bruins' numbers now look stronger after the seven goal out burst, the team is cognizant of its issues heading into tonight's game.
Team captain Keith Tkachuk, who has yet to score this season, said he was "feeling it tonight. I'm pretty sure the trip to Robert's Western World put the honky back in my tonk, if you know what I mean. Look... we know that the Predators have their potent one-two of Brunette and Thornton. But after them, it's a drop off to Mike Modano and Scott Hartnell - four points, in fact! I'm actually going to suggest to Robbie we swap up lines tonight - their third and fourth lines are absolutely pathetisad, running negative results."
Hearing the idea, Ftorek chuckled, and said "Tell ya what - when Keith gets a hat trick, I'll let him set the lineup."
The two teams face off at the Nashville Arena tonight, and the $50 tickets still have availability.
