Senators Look Forward to Bruins after Victory in Chicago
The Senators came out of Chicago with two points last night and a very satisfied GM. The win is mainly thanks to the excellent play of veteran backup, Fred Brathwaite who stopped 25 of 27 shots against Chicago and held strong in the third to keep the victory for Ottawa.
The Ottawa goals were scored by Bouchard, who notched the game winner in the 3rd period, and two goals by Dick Tarnstrom all at even strength on absolute bullets from the point.
Of note, Brendan Morrison extended his pointless streak to 4 games and Nedved extended his to 3. "If these two don't start producing we are gonna have a tough time making the playoffs. They are our key guys. We depend on them to put the puck in the net" said GM Schmucky in an interview early this morning.
The Senators are in Boston tonight to play the Bruins. Boston is coming off of a day of rest after a huge win versus the Kings in which they put up 7 goals. Fred Brathwaite hopes that they cannot repeat that tonight as he will get the start yet again for the Senators as they rest an injured Turek on the bench.
