Leafs regroup after tough loss at home to Sharks
The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to struggle at home, losing another game, this time to Sharks, 4-1. Their home record is a baffling 8-12-3. The loss was made even harder to swallow considering the winning goal was scored by Glen Murray, who was recently traded to the Sharks in large deal that has been credited with turning this Leaf club around.
The team has another game at home against the Blues, and look to see starting goaltender Evgeni Nabokov to sit in favor of back up Jamie Hodson. The Leafs might juggle up their lines as well. Mats Sundin has been disapointing since coming over in the Murray trade, and could be put back on the trading block if he doesnt turn things around shortly.
Perhaps part of the problem is that 2 of the 3 leading scorers for this squad are defencemen, and 5 of the top 10 are as well. They need more production from Lindros, Smyth and Park, as well as Sundin. Both Sundin and Lindros might be trade deadline movers if they cant perform according to their talent and salary level.
