Princes crowned victorious

The Providence Bruins travelled cross country, and as far as the final score indicated - it was a waste of time.

But the league schedule dictates they have to play every team, so on to the plane the team went, off to face the Junior Los Angeles squad, The Princes.

As would be expected, the Princes ruled, shutting out the Bruins offense, 5-0. Chris Higgins scored twice, and Lasse Kukkonen, Logan Stephenson, and Jens Karlsson each added a goal for the final tally.

Jordan Sigalet was chased in the second period, allowing five goals on twenty-seven shots and taking the loss to drop to 11-30-1 on the year. On the flip side of the ice, Cristobel Huet stopped all twenty-three shots he faced for the win.

Brock Hooten relieved Sigalet and faced only five shots, keeping them all in front of him.

It was another ugly game for the Providence Bruins, who attempted only twenty-three shots and gave up four goals in the second period. Furthermore, the team was whistled for seven penalties, but saved from power play hell as four of them were the mysterious "off-setting" penalties, and a fifth was for fighting, seeing both side penalties.

Paul Gaustad got the most in-game rest, serving five for fighting with Jens Karlsson and two for roughing, with both coming in the third period.

The two teams will play the back-end of their home-and-home series in Providence in two days.
