The Boston Bruins Season Forecast - Shawn McEachern

One of only six Bruins to play in all eighty-two games last year, McEachern fell victim to the wares of aging, seeing his game decline and his body did likewise.

He enters the season expected to serve the farm club with leadership and tutelage. Odds are he will not see much of the pro game again, barring injury to one of the top four centers. He may be good for some spot starts, as the issue is not so much his skill, but the ability of his body to contend on a nightly basis.

His strength appears to have deteriorated based on visits to the locker room, as has his speed and endurance. He appears relatively durable still, but with the diminished strength and speed, the team would be getting twenty minutes at fifty percent.

So - team management will need to decide if a fifty percent McEachern trumps one hundred percent of Kopecky or Jakes. Odds are, they won't... but he'll see some ice time.

Prediction - 12 games played; 3-9-12
