The Boston Bruins Season Preview - Andy Hilbert

Rookie Andy Hilbert, who say action in fourteen games (2-1-3) last season, was hoping to contend for a reserve spot with the parent club in the upcoming season. However, based on the influx of youngsters arriving from Providence, he finds himself in the same logjam for playing time that the rest do.

Solid in puck protection, Hilbert is perceived as the weakest passer of all Bruins. The weakness, though, is offset, as he is considered the best of the potential reserves at puck protection and control. Furthermore, he is less inclined to take a penalty - 0 PIM in 14 games - than the others as well.

In many ways, Hilbert is one of the best all around potential reserves for the Bruins with good speed and skating, endurance, strength, and puck control. He is just not a very good center due to his passing concerns and lack of a desire to score. The Bruins may attempt to find him another position, but as with everything else, that is not a guarantee.

Projection - 12 games, 4-2-6
